President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia received a warm welcome from Indonesian citizens upon his arrival in New Delhi, India, late on Thursday night. Nadine Ardiani Chairunisa, an Indonesian student studying Marketing Communication at Amity University, was among those eagerly awaiting Prabowo’s arrival since 5 pm. Accompanied by fellow student Demas Fadel Anggara, they described the experience as exciting yet nerve-wracking due to some delays. Other Indonesians present, such as Rajendra, Marvell, and Adyatama, expressed their gratitude for Prabowo’s personal gesture of shaking hands with them upon arrival. They shared their hopes for a successful working visit in India and a brighter future under Prabowo’s leadership.
Prabowo’s visit to India not only signifies a new chapter in bilateral relations but also commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India. Before departing from Jakarta, Prabowo expressed pride in being invited as the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, considering it a great honor for Indonesia. He emphasized the participation of Indonesian TNI troops in the event, highlighting the strong ties between the two nations. The visit also includes scheduled meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss enhancing cooperation on various strategic issues.
